At any point in time, we are either solving a problem, or trying to learn new skills, or trying to be creative/innovative.
To do our best in any of the above situations, It requires an uncluttered mind and fertile imagination.
There are many times when I have failed to see through a simple problem, because I am pre-occupied, and could not pay quality attention. Multi-tasking does not work in my case. I still get compelled to do it sometimes. Which means the quality of attention would be compromised. All executives and CXO’s I am sure to face these challenges. I feel the sustainable solutions are most importantly, about delegation, and doing it properly.
Prioritising so that you are focussed and focus your full energy on the very task you are working on.
At the end of the day or a working week, you do not want to be feeling unfulfilled because you could not accomplish everything you planned. Yes, especially when there are dependencies, the tasks that you intended to complete, may overflow. What is beyond our control is “beyond our control”, and the best to focus on what is in our control.
I always said “making a timely Decision” is important. If the outcome is good, all is okay. If the outcome is what you hope for, it is okay, you have learned. However, ‘not to make the decision” and procrastinate is criminal.
