“Freedom of Thought” at the Heart of Learning

In our current system of education, particularly early childhood education, and school education, have we accommodated, and factored in spaces and time for curiosity to flourish and creativity to manifest? I am not sure.

The constraints could be lack of freedom in the curriculum, more focus on knowledge transmission in classrooms. While classrooms and Teaching-learning processes should encourage “Freedom of Thought” for every individual.

Education systems that nourish the natural curiosity, trigger fresh thinking, provide time and space for creativity and Innovation are very much needed. Education systems should provide adequate opportunities apply knowledge, creative thinking to enable ideation, innovation, and working on real projects that also involve problem solving.
